The New England School of Theology was founded in 1897 to prepare men and women for the foreign field, to fit men for the ministry and to train workers for all kinds of Christian service. From the outset the policy of the Regents and Faculty has been to maintain a school of high grade and to emphasize the place of the Bible as the foundation of instruction. The present curriculum is organized for students who have graduated from high school or college. The better preparation a student has when he comes to the school the more satisfactory his work will be, other things being equal. The attendance of high school graduates and others whose training enables them to enter at once upon the work of Bible and theological study is desired. Such students can easily finish the course in the prescribed time. Others who lack preparation in English will need to take an extra year for the work.
