Nice Firm Clean copy ! Light general wear. 59 pages. The Margaret Coffin Prayer Book Society is unique organization. Founded by a little-known Boston lady Margaret Coffin, who spent most of her adult life engaged in a project of quiet evangelism, giving away Prayer Books to those who could not afford them, and to parishes in times of special need. It was her last wish that a society might eventually be established to carry on her work, for which she left funds as an initial endowment. Her work continues to the present day. This biographical sketch is an attempt to bring together in one piece numerous references to the Coffin family from secondary source materials found in books and scattered articles, as well as unorganized materials, sermons, papers, etc. in the Society's collections. Where details or adequate documentation were lacking, new research in primary sources was undertaken.
